Covid vaccine: 100% students aged 12-17 receive first dose in Cox’s Bazar
All students aged 12 to 17 have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Cox's Bazar.
Sources at Cox's Bazar District Civil Surgeon Office said, as per the list received from the education department, there are 2,82,040 students aged 12 to 17 in 899 educational institutions in the district. But the first dose of Pfizer vaccine has been administered to a total of 2,84,393 students.
Cox's Bazar District Civil Surgeon Dr Mahbubur Rahman told our Cox's Bazar students that the extra 2,353 students, who were given the first dose of the vaccine outside the list, are mainly drop-out students.
"We have enough vaccines. There is no crisis of vaccine here," added Dr Mahbubur Rahman.
Meanwhile, a total of 30,993 students were inoculated the second dose vaccine. The remaining students, who received the first dose, will be administered the second dose of the vaccine in phases, sources at the Cox's Bazar District Civil Surgeon Office added.
