At least 13 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League's (BCL) Chittagong University (CU) unit were injured in a clash between two factions early today.
The two groups of BCL CU unit engaged in the clash around 12am near Suhrawardy Hall on the campus, reports our staff correspondent.
Later, police and members of the proctorial team took control of the situation upon arrival.
The two factions of BCL were Bijoy group and CFC.
Leaders and activists of Bijoy group claimed that those of CFC attacked them without any provocation and they were forced to resist.
On the other hand, CFC leaders alleged that supporters of BCL leader Bijoy had been sledging their activists for several days and they were provoked to respond.
Acting Proctor Shahidul Islam said that the situation is under control this morning.
"The proctorial body is alert to avoid further untoward incidents," he said.
