Youth kills sister in Rangpur

A man allegedly killed his younger sister at Purbo-Chandghat village under Kaunia upazila in Rangpur district over trifle matter on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Shamima Akhtar Sweety, 14, daughter of Emdadul Haque of the village.
Police and locals said, on Saturday night both Sweety and her elder brother Md Zakir Hossain, 28, locked in an altercation while watching television.
At one stage, Zakir hit Sweety in the head with an iron road.
Zakir also hit his mother Jyotsna Begum, 48, with the iron road when she tried to save her daughter, leaving them critically injured.
Locals rescued them and rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH). However, on the way to RMCH, Sweety succumbed to her injuries.
Police arrested Zakir from the village yesterday.
