Youth held for threatening police officer

A youth was held in Rahman Nagar area of the town on Saturday on charge of giving death threat to the superintendent of police last month.
The arrestee is Belal Sheikh Dipu, 27, son of late Dulal Sheikh of the area, said SP Mozammel Haque.
Detective Branch (DB) of police in a drive arrested Belal from his flexi-load shop "Dipa Enterprise" along with eight cell phones in the area around 1:00pm. The SP received death threat through the seized mobile phones several times.
The youth also threatened to blow up the office and residence of the SP by exploding bombs, police said.
Police were investigating whether the youth had any link with any militant grou0p, the SP said.
