Yet another arrest warrant against Tarique Rahman
A Chittagong court yesterday issued an arrest warrant against BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman in a case filed for plotting mass unrest in the country through his defamatory speeches against Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Md Nurul Alam, a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League in Rangunia upazila, filed the case with the court, said Advocate Abul Hasem, public prosecutor.
The court fixed February 11 for next hearing, he said.
According to the case statement, Tarique termed Bangabandhu “Pak Bandhu” (a friend of Pakistan) and “big Razakar”.
On December 15, Tarique, at a party meeting in London, also said Mujib never fought for the independence of Bangladesh.
