Write a Better Resume
You know what they say about first impression being the last impression.
Your resume will be your first impression on prospective employers.
So make sure that your resume is the best it can be with these five simple tips.
The Most Important Comes First
Your previous work experience will be the most important aspect of your resume, so put that at the top. List the most important skills and job experiences first. If this is your first job application, bring your skills and college grades into focus.
Be Concise and to the Point
You don't need to include all your details in your resume. Include relevant and marketable information. Write crisp, short statements, and don't worry about using fragments instead of complete sentences.
Include Keywords
Hiring managers are wont to search for keyword when going through their database of resumes. Be sure to include keywords that often appear in job descriptions if you want an increased chance of garnering a call back.
Write Achievements, Not Job Descriptions
Hiring managers are interested in knowing whether and how you are able to solve problems. Don't just write about the job; focus on your role in the office you worked for. Avoid using generic descriptions when listing your achievements.
Use Bullet Points
Prospective employers won't have the time or patience to read through long, winding sentences. Use bullet points and short phrases or sentences to describe your education background, skills, objectives and previous job experiences.
