Varsity student shot dead at Daulatdia brothel

A student of a private university in Dhaka was killed and his friend injured as unknown miscreants opened fire on them at Daulatdia brothel in Goalanda upazila of Rajbari early today.

The deceased was a LLB seventh semester student, our Rajbari correspondent reports quoting Abdul Khaleq, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gualanda Police Station.

The OC said a group of unidentified miscreants, numbering three or four, shot at the victim and his friend when they were returning homes from the brothel at about 3:30am.

The university student died on the spot while his friend sustained bullet wounds, the police official said.

The injured is now undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College and Hospital, he added.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Rajbari Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Motive behind the killing could not be known immediately.
