Two rescued two days after abduction
Detective Branch of Barisal Metropolitan Police rescued two men from a city hotel on Bandh Road on Wednesday, two days after they had been abducted.
In this regard, four students of different institutions were held in the city.
Arrested Shah Imam Hossain, Shakib Hasan, Siam alias Rajib, and Abid Al Amin confessed to the crime, said police.
On Monday, the four impersonating customers picked up photographers Asif Kabir and Al-Amin Robin of “Jafran Wedding Photography Firm” in Dhaka's Baridhara over a contract on taking photographs in Patuakhali's Baufal for a marriage ceremony.
On Tuesday, the culprits confined the two to the hotel in Barisal city and demanded a ransom of Tk 5 lakh threatening to kill them otherwise, said Azad Rahman, assistant commissioner of DB at BMP.
On information from the victims, their employer Afzal Azim sent them Tk 25,000 through bKash, he said adding that meantime, Afzal informed police of it and the culprits were held when they went to withdraw the money from a nearby shop.
