Truck kills man while fleeing bomb attack in Gaibandha

A man was crushed under the wheels of a truck when he jumped off a bus to escape a petrol bomb attack by alleged blockaders in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha early today.

Three passengers of the bus suffered burn injuries during the attack, reports our Gaibandha correspondent. 

Pro-blockade activists hurled a petrol bomb on the bus of NR Paribahan at Kalitala around 12:30am when it was travelling to Dhaka from Rangpur, said ABM Jahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gabindaganj Police Station.

To escape the attack, Parvez, 25, jumped off the bus and was run over by a speedy truck, the OC said adding that he died on the spot. 

Among the injured bus passengers, Asadul, 28, was whisked off to Gabaindaganj Upazila Health Complex with severe burn injuries while two others were given primary aid.
