Cox’s Bazar teacher shot dead in his house

Miscreants have forced in and gunned down a primary schoolteacher and shot his brother inside his house in Cox’s Bazar’s Ramu upazila early today.

Miscreants forced in and gunned down a primary schoolteacher and shot his brother inside his house in Cox’s Bazar’s Ramu upazila early today.

The deceased was identified as Md Nuruchchafa, 35, son of Abdur Mabud from the upazila and assistant teacher of Boro Bil Governemnt Primary School.

A dozen miscreants forced into Nuruchchofa’s house and shot him, Md Nurunnabi, the deceased’s brother who was also shot at scene, told our local correspondent.

“They said they were there to kill my brother,” Nurunnabi said.

Both the victim and his brother were rushed to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. Nruchchafa succumbed on the way. The brother alleged that the killing was motivated from previous enmity.

Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Majid told The Daily Star one Jahangir Alam was detained in this connection. “We are trying to unearth the reason for killing.”
