Netflix testing a cable like linear content channel

Netflix is testing out a programmed linear content channel, similar to what you get with standard broadcast and cable TV, for the first time. It'll be accessed via Netflix's browser-based website and it will be initially available in France only.

It will show TV shows and movies from Netflix's existing content library. According to Netflix, the reason to start with France is a lot of viewers there tends to like watching programming without having to select what they're going to watch next. Netflix previously launched "Shuffle" that would play content based on recommendation.
