Farewell, Mr. Bond
Sir Sean Connery, the first and unarguably the greatest actor to portray James Bond, passed away at the age of 90. Long regarded as the 'Best Bond', Sir Sean Connery first stared in the onscreen adaptation of the spy saga in 1963. Sharp Jawline, quirky comments and ofcourse fancy gadget- all became synonymous with the actor when he brought life to Ian Flemings's spy novel. With co-stars Joseph Wiseman, Jack Lord and Ursula Andress, Sean immortalised James Bond in its first film adaptation titled 'Dr. No.'. Equipped with a camera that doubles as Geiger counter, Bond investigates several murders only to confront the infamous Dr. No. Despite being shot in the 1960s, Sean Connery was able to personify a perfect spy who only trusts in his Walter PPK. According to many critics, bond's gadgets were one of the reasons why the film was able to survive 20+ adaptation spanning across nearly half a century. The mold that Sean Connery formed has been the steppingstone for all the actors who played the role of the gadget-wielding spy.
