Tigers beat Nepal by 8 wkts
Bangladesh beat Nepal by 8 wicket in their second match of the qualifying rounds of the World T20 at Chittagong today to move one step closer to the next round.
Bangladesh batsmen Anamul Haque and Shakib Al Hasan contributed with 42 and 37 in a comprehensive display of batting against the associate nation.
Shakib's contribution was emphatic, as he blasted four sixes in his 18 ball stay to douse any hope of upset Nepal had before the match.
Earlier, Bangladesh bowlers maintained tight lines and lengths to restrict Nepal to 126 despite a sprightly fourth wicket partnership in their second match of the qualifying rounds of the World T20 at Chittagong today.
Al-Amin Hossain was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh, picking up two wickets in an over for 17 runs from 4 overs.
Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza also contributed with miserly spells, conceding 22 and 23 runs respectively from their four-over quota.
Nepal started off quietly, losing the top three cheaply, before a fourth wicket partnership of 85 between skipper Khadka and Vesawkar pushed them over the 125-run mark.
However, Nepal will rue their fate for not capitalizing on a missed stumping by Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and several misfields by the fielders.
Their inability to hit big shots also cost them, as not a six was hit in their whole innings.
The Tigers will seek to strenthen their hold on the sole qualifying sopt from the four-member group, while Nepal will be determined to upset the Test playing nation on their international ddebut.
