Swiss Film Festival 2014

The Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, in cooperation with the Goethe Institut Dhaka, is organising a Swiss Film Festival on December 7-9. Three Swiss films will be screened at the Goethe Institut Auditorium in Dhanmondi during the three-day festival.
Spaghetti Jazz "Bollywood Night"

For an unforgettable evening of Indian Live Music, Mughlai Khana & Magical Ambiance by Sygmaz, Spagetti Jazz is the place to be on December 9. Mostak Fathe Ali and friends will rock the dance floor with your favorite film tunes. There will be a lavish 8 course Indian Scrumptious buffet of Tikka Masala, Dal Makhni, Jeera Pillau, Shahi Tukra etc etc. The dress code is Indian glam and there will be prizes for the best dressed. Dhaka Comicon 2014: Age of Brilliance

Bangladesh's first-ever comic-con returns and this time they celebrate the rise of an 'Age of Brilliance'. At a time when the pop culture phenomenon in our country is at a fever pitch and the various cosplayers, artists and the fans represent the brilliance. They know they have kept you all waiting with the dates and during this time they were on the hunt for a suitable venue which would be adequate to play host to thousands. Tareque Masud Festival 2014

Last December 2013 the Tareque Masud Memorial Trust held the first Tareque Masud Festival at Shilpakala Academy. The Festival was organized to commemorate the occasion of Tareque's birthday on December 6th and was envisioned as a celebration of the works, thought and vision of the late film-maker. This year the Trust is planning to hold the 2nd edition of the festival on the premises of Shilpakala Academy, this time in the main Natyashala Auditorium. This year promises to be an equally celebratory occasion, with new and exciting events planned. In addition to the Memorial Lecture by Sajjad Sharif, there will be a screening of 'Remembering Runway', a documentary on the making of Tareque Masud's last film.
Stone Free playing Pink Floyd, Dire Straits and The Doors

Stone Free is back at Roll Xpress Café. Doing what they do best – Pink Floyd and Dire Straits but this time mixing it up with a bit of The Doors. With Fahim on lead guitars, Nadeer on percussions, Emon on drums, Mishu on bass, and Chotu on vocals – Stone Free will be accompanied by Saad on keys.
Doors will open at 7:30pm. Limited seating on a first come basis and an entrance fee of Tk. 700 per person.

On Borders, Photo Exhibition

Venue: Daily Star-Bengali Arts Precinct, 64-65 Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue
In this exhibition, the 18 photographers of the German OSTKREUZ Agency tell stories about borders. They explore what borders mean to people and how people shape their lives along borders. They show their unique perspective on the borders that run through the world today.
The exhibition, jointly organized by Goethe-Institut and Bengal Foundation, will be accompanied by different lectures and workshops. More information will follow soon.
