How LG might be shaping the future of consumer electronics
Ever since its inception, LG has been a top name in the local market of consumer electronics and electronic products. From ovens to washing machines to air conditioners, LG has a spot as the go-to electronics brand for modern customers when considering home appliances.
Following its motto of shaping life better for everyone, LG has recently launched two new products that feature new technologies in consumer electronics. At a live stream on the Prothom Alo Facebook page on 28 March, LG officially announced the latest additions to their ever-growing family of home electronics: the LG Instaview™ Side-by-Side refrigerator and the LG OLED Evo TV.
LG Instaview™ Side-by-Side refrigerator incorporates everything LG stands for: premium high-quality products with innovative features geared toward the ultimate user experience. Its signature feature is the Instaview doors, which light up to show the inside contents with just two knocks. This edge-to-edge Instaview feature not only adds a unique look to the overall seamless design but also adds a 23% wider view, compared to its earlier version of Instaview Door in Door models, with which the user can easily find and grab the item of their choice. The doors are metallic with illuminated hidden handles, complete with a metal interior finish that accentuates the look and feel of any modern home.
According to Mr Ashiqul Islam, Head of Consumer Electronics, LG Electronics, Bangladesh Branch, LG wants to take cleanliness to the next level. This refrigerator does exactly that, with its UV Nanosystem water dispenser that can eliminate 99.99% of germs using UV rays.
LG Instaview™ Side-by-Side refrigerator has a large capacity to boot, being able to fit up to 27 cubic feet of content. It features Door Cooling+ technology on both sides, keeping food fresh even when placed on the side doors. This feature is complemented by the Linear Cooling system, responsible for maintaining the precise temperature of the refrigerator. This way, you can ensure your food stays at a steady and optimum temperature at all times.
Following the theme of revolutionising home electronics in Bangladesh, LG also announced their latest television model: the LG OLED Evo.
"The O in OLED stands for organic," states Mr Ashiqul, "The other TVs you will find in the market utilises what we know as backlights. Pixels light up on backlights, which produce the picture that we see on the TV. However, perfect colours and perfect black aren't possible on backlights."
OLED TVs are unique because they do not contain backlights. Instead, self-lighting pixels are used to produce the picture on the screen. "Since there is no backlight," adds Mr Ashiqul, "It is possible to achieve perfect black and perfect colours that modern LED TVs aren't capable of. Also, due to the absence of backlight, the TV is quite slim."
The millions of self-lighting pixels in LG OLED Evo achieve improved picture clarity and up to 100% colour volume. This means an enriched movie and sports viewing experience, added to an impressive 8K gaming immersion - making this TV the new go-to choice for any kind of home entertainment, according to Mr Ashiqul.
During the live launch, Mr Peter Ko, Managing Director of LG Electronics, Bangladesh Branch, stated that the two new products fall in line with LG's commitment to providing a better life to customers. "LG was the first manufacturer of TV, refrigerators and air conditioners in Korea," said Mr Peter, "And since then, we have been trying to bring only the best experience to our customers." Regarding bringing world-class quality products to Bangladesh, he said that Bangladesh is the fastest-growing market in the world, and thus, Bangladeshis highly value premium experience when it comes to consumer electronics.
With the release of these two innovative products, LG is seemingly shaping the future of consumer electronics. LG Instaview™ Side-by-Side refrigerator and the LG OLED Evo TV are now available at all local LG showrooms and on the official LG Bangladesh website.
