DU to allow non-DU students in its Master's programs
The University Syndicate has finalised the decision to admit students from other universities in the regular Master's degree course of Dhaka University (DU), subject to the availability of seats.
According to the decision, students outside Dhaka University can take admission in the Master's programs from the academic year 2022-23, after passing an entrance exam.
This information was informed in a press release signed by Mahmud Alam, Director of Public Relations Department of DU on Tuesday.
Earlier, the Dean's Committee of the University recommended the admission in a meeting on August 30.
According to the press release of the Public Relations Department, students can be admitted from the academic year 2022-2023 through limited seats through the admission test to the master's program of Dhaka University.
The students must have a Bachelor's (Honours) degree from a public university or University Grants Commission (UGC) approved university.
The decision has been taken to create inclusive and lifelong learning opportunities, the syndicate said. Various departments and institutes will take necessary measures in this regard.
According to the current rules of the university, only students who have passed graduation from DU get the opportunity to pursue a Master's in their respective departments.
