Supreme Court lawyer Tuhin Malik sued

Two criminal cases were filed against a Supreme Court lawyer Tuhin Malik on the charges of making derogatory remarks on the Bangladesh Constitution and hurting religious sentiment on November 30.

Golam Rabbani, international affairs deputy secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League Central Committee, filed the cases with Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Dhaka.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Hasibul Haque directed officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station to register the cases as regular ones after getting the home ministry's approval, which is mandatory for filing a sedition case.

According to the case statement, Dr Tuhin gave a speech in Water Lily Garden Auditorium in East London defaming several sections of the Constitution and hurting religious sentiment.
