Tania is a 10 year old girl who has been physically impaired since birth. Unlike many girls her age, she does not dream of living in a castle or play with dolls. She only dreams of being able to go to school every day with ease, and continue studying so that, one day, she may become a school teacher.

Tania, daughter of Mizanur Rahman Joarder of Balarampur village under Harinakundo upazila, was born in 2001. She has been physically impaired since her infancy. Her legs are useless.
Tania reads in Class Four at Balarampur Primary School. She cannot walk as her two legs are nimble. Her mother Sabeda Khatun takes her on her lap and goes to school. Her father is a day labourer. He works in others' lands. Her mother, having had three surgeries, is not in the best of shape physically. The primary school is about one kilometer away from her house. She can not carry Tania to school in rainy seasons. Besides, Tania is getting older day by day and it is becoming increasingly difficult for her mother to carry her to school. In the rainy season Tania misses her classes often.
Tania's father Mizanur Rahman Joarder is not able to provide a van for his daughter Tania. He goes to work early in the morning and comes back in the afternoon. He earns Tk 150 every day, a sum which is quite meager for his family. His elder son is a student at the HSC level, and he is currently studying at Harinakundo Lalon Shah College.
Sabeda, Tania's mother, supplements the family income. She manages to pay her children's educational expenses with the money she earns rearing poultry. She hopes that someone will stretch out a helping hand to Tania. If her hope is fulfilled she will be ever grateful.
Assistant Teacher Rina Khatun of Balarampur Government Primary School said, “Tania is a meritorious student of her class. She is very attentive when she comes to school but she often misses her classes.”
Tania told Star Insight that she wants to be self reliant by being educated. She wants a van for her easy movement to school. Her dream is to grow up to become a school teacher.
