‘GPH Ispat Presents Esho Robot Banai’ concludes
The reality show, 'GPH Ispat Presents Esho Robot Banai', held their grand finale recently at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).
The show gave young robot mechanics a platform to transform their ideas into reality. After many brainstorming sessions and rounds of eliminations, the show began on September 23, 2018, with 30 selected teams, on Channel i.
Mohammed Jahangir Alam, Chairman of GPH Group, delivered the welcoming address at the grand finale. "The purpose of this show was to encourage young people to create robots so that we can produce machines to fulfill our technical needs instead of having to buy them for high prices from other countries," he said. His speech was followed by a thanking note by Faridur Reza Sagar, Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Ltd and Channel i. He appreciated everyone behind the initiative.
Dr Md Khalilur Rahman, Associate Professor, CSE Department, BRAC University, M Shamsher Ali, the former president of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, former vice-chancellor of Southeast University and former founder vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Open University, Mohammad Kaykobad, Professor, BUET, Mehdi Shams, President, CRID USA, along with actor Jaya Ahsan graced the jury panel at the grand finale.
The finalists were Team Reflex, consisting of students from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology and BRAC University, Pericoloso Pyat, consisting of students from Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology, The Upsilon consisting of students from BRAC University and the wild card entry, Team Optimus Prime MLT, consisting of students from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.
Noted actor Dilara Zaman showcased the robots of Team Reflex, while actors Purnima, Ferrous and Riaz showcased the robots of Pericoloso Pyat, The Upsilon and Team Optimus Prime MLT respectively.
The first prize of BDT 10, 00,000 was won by Pericoloso Pyat and the second price of BDT 5, 00,000 was won by Team Optimus Prime MLT. All the other participants were presented with laptops and certificates.
This event was presented by GPH Ispat, with Center for Robotic Innovation & Development (CRID, USA) as the knowledge partner. The television partner was Channel-i.
