Euphoria in Thailand
The friendship began over thirty years ago between Dr Man and my parents, and a few months ago we were extremely fortunate to be reunited.
Dr Man's words were "I will pick you up at nine o'clock tomorrow. Okay?" and he hung up the phone, therefore saying 'no' to him was not an option. Dr Man Ratanapitak is a PhD in none other than magic and a superb animal trainer.
We set out for Dr Man to show me all the things he knew I loved. We sang and danced, as my mother fell asleep on the back seat .
As we made it to the SriRacha Tiger Zoo, I got to cuddle with a tiny and adorable tiger cub. As an animal lover, I could write an essay on that day itself.
However, I will skip over to the main reason for the trip:
'Harry Styles: Live On Tour'. On May 7, we set out for Impact Arena. For our general admission tickets, Maa and I knew that we would have to wait in line for hours amidst the crowd of impatient pre-teens. We had come prepared, and my mother, my Filipino friend Zendy and I got second row from the barricade just about ten feet from the stage.
I cannot keep myself from mentioning the opening act Warpaint, who are a band consisting of only women. Their music and message to empower other women is truly remarkable and inspiring.
And then came man himself: Harry Styles, the beautiful, precious, talented human who preaches "Treat people with kindness" and believes it whole-heartedly.
The energy, the euphoria, the emotion, the love and unity could be felt throughout the arena. Harry resembled a rare mythical creature that could not be stopped. Unfortunately, after about the most exciting two hours of our lives, the show had to end. Harry left the stage, so did the musicians and the crew who started to dismantle the equipment. There I was draped over the barricade, tears escaping my eyes pointing to where Harry was on stage. Needless to say, security had to escort me out.
We flew home the next night with not much more than Harry Styles and his captivating aura on our minds. All the last minute hectic planning, the blood, sweat and tears that went into the trip was all worth it.
