A cosy evening of storytelling

Spreeha Bangladesh Foundation, established in 2012, is a social enterprise that uses design thinking and creative approach to problem solving in order to tackle social issues such as lack of education and healthcare.

On July 28, 2018, Spreeha organised "Amar Spreeha - A cosy evening of storytelling" as their pilot event of many to follow. The theme of the event was inspired by Bangladesh's rich culture of passing down stories. Spreeha aims to harness this tradition of knowledge sharing through the sharing of life experiences. They want to work towards building a vibrant and connected community. The guest speakers were four of the content creators behind the creative initiative, Togbog - a page that creates engaging short videos about interesting facets of Bangladeshi history and culture.

Togbog's lively presence and the warm and charming environment allowed people to open up about themselves. People from different backgrounds and of different age groups came to the event, all of whom brought unique perspectives to their stories.

People mingled beautifully throughout the event, sipping tea and munching on shingaras every now and then. It ended with an acoustic jamming session, where members of the Spreeha team sang.

Spreeha hopes to foster a culture of storytelling, knowledge sharing and growth of community through more such events in the future.
