Bangladesh Sweeps the United Asian Debating Championship 2018

Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) seized the championship title of the recently concluded United Asian Debating Championships (UADC) 2018, the largest inter-varsity Parliamentary Debate Tournament in Asia, held in Bandung, Indonesia. Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka (IBA DU) secured the runner-up position.

Aaqib Farhan Hossain, Zobayer Ahmed and Mahmudul Hasan Nabil were participants of Team IUB A, the champions. The IBA DU 2 team consisted of Kazi Ashfaqul Huq, Shamsul Nawed Nafees and Rayaan Ibtesham Chowdhury.

Aaqib Farhan Hossain was declared the Best Speaker of the finale.

The tournament was jointly organised by Institute of Technology Bandung and Broadway Entertainment Group.

UADC is the biggest 3v3 tournament in Asia, where 62 teams participated from various countries. It was the first time when an all Bangladeshi final took place in such a major international debating championship.
