Mahmud recovers after dropping Rohit with wicket of the batter
Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud quickly compensated for dropping Rohit Sharma as the pacer picked up the crucial wicket of the Indian skipper in his first over of their Super 12 fixture at the Adelaide Oval today.
Mahmud had dropped Rohit, on 1, at deep backward square leg in the third over off the bowling of Taskin Ahmed. However, coming into the attack in the very next over, young pacer Mahmud did not let that drop cost Bangladesh heavily as he had Rohit give an easy catch to backward point after failing to time his attempted uppercut.
Rohit departed after scoring just two off eight deliveries.
Bangladesh pacers, especially in-form Taskin, have made life difficult for Indian batters early in overcast conditions in Adelaide. Taskin managed to beat the outside edge of the Indian batters a number of times and could only count himself unlucky to have not picked up a wicket. He gave away just 10 runs in his three overs so far.
India have struck a few boundaries but could not accelerate as much as they would have liked in the Powerplay. After six overs, India reached 37 for one.
