Women’s Junior Hockey: Bangladesh suffer heavy defeat
Bangladesh suffered their biggest defeat in women’s hockey when they were handed a 6-0 thrashing by Uzbekistan in their fourth match of the AirAsia Women’s Junior AHF Cup in Singapore yesterday.
The women in red and green, who had earlier lost two matches while having bagged their maiden victory against Sri Lanka, were under the cosh right from the word go against Uzbekistan.
Bangladesh conceded two goals in the first quarter, two in the second quarter and one each in the last two quarters against the Central Asian nation, who just moved up to second position on the six-team table.
Bangladesh, who are fifth on the table, will wrap up their maiden international assignment with a game against Chinese Taipei today.
