Volleyball coach Mehdi no more

Renowned volleyball coach Golam Rasul Khan Mehdi, also a former national volleyball player, breathed his last at a hospital in Dhaka yesterday. He was 65.
Mehdi left behind his wife, two daughters and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
Mehdi, also an executive member of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) and the volleyball secretary of Wari Club, died of Covid-19 at Green Life Hospital, said a press release from BVF.
Mehdi started his coaching career in 1983 after completing coaches' course from Patiala, India and took charge of the national team during 1989 SA Games in Islamabad. He was last the head coach of the national women's team in SA Games held in Nepal in 2019.
