Tanvir fifer dents Wolves
Left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam bagged a maiden five-wicket haul as the visiting Ireland Wolves were bundled out for just 151 runs on the first day of the lone four-day game at the Zahur Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram yesterday.
In reply, the Bangladesh Emerging team ended the day on 81 for one in their first innings, trailing by 70 runs.
Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim was dismissed on 41 but skipper Saif Hasan remained not out on 22 while Mahmudul Hasan Joy was unbeaten on 18.
Earlier, Ireland lost wickets at regular intervals after electing to bat. Curtis Campher top-scored with 38 while Lorcan Tucker added 20.
Tanvir remained the pick of the bowlers and ended with figures of five for 55 from 23 overs while Ebadot Hossain and Saif bagged two wickets each for Bangladesh.
