BSJA elects new office bearers

Motaher Hossain Masum was elected unopposed as the new president while Raihan Al Mughni was elected as the general secretary in the Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association elections, held at its headquarters in Paltan yesterday.
Syed Mohammad Pitu was elected as the new joint secretary while six executive members were also elected during the voting, which also saw three vice presidents and a treasurer elected unopposed.
The election was preceded by the association's 17th biannual general meeting.
Army, Ansar best in taekwondo

Bangladesh Army and Ansar & VDP were crowned champions in men's and women's division respectively of the Trust Bank 16th National Taekwondo Championship, which concluded at the National Sports Council yesterday.
Army collected eight gold, nine silver and four bronze medals in the senior men's section while Border Guard Bangladesh won 14 medals including four gold, five silver and five bronze medals.
Ansar & VDP won nine gold and five silver medals to become champions in senior women's section while Army finished runners-up with five gold and six silver medals.
Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan won the men's junior category title while Gazipur District Sports Association won the junior women's title.
Inter-Garments Football from 14th

The 4th BGMEA Cup Inter-Garments Football Tournament will get underway on February 14 at the International Hope School Bangladesh ground in Uttara, informed BGMEA President Siddikur Rahman during a press briefing at the BGMEA Bhaban yesterday.
After the 15 participating teams are divided into groups via lottery during the opening ceremony, the group stage will begin at the International Hope School Bangladesh while the final, set to be telecasted by Channel 9 live from the venue, will take place at the Bangladesh Army Stadium on March 1.
