TVS Auto becomes BPL's associate partners

TVS Auto Bangladesh has been appointed as the associate branding partner for the upcoming 6th Bangladesh Premier League.
An agreement in this regard was signed between TVS Auto Bangladesh and K-Sports yesterday where TVS Auto Bangladesh's managing director J Ekram Hossain and chief operating officer of K-Sports Fahad MA Karim. The BPL will begin on January 5 in Dhaka, Sylhet and Chattogram.
BKSP thrash Tangail
BKSP won by 91 runs against Tangail district in Manikganj Municipality Gold Cup Cricket Tournament at the Shaheed Miraz-Tapan Stadium yesterday.
Winning the toss, BKSP decided to bat and were all out for 126 runs in 34.1 overs. Ratul scored 39 runs and Mukidul added 17 runs. Anik of Tangail took six wickets.
In reply, Tangail were bundled out for only 35 runs in 24.1 overs. Mukidul of BKSP took five wickets and was adjudged the man of the match.
Saints appoint Hasenhuttl
Southampton have appointed Austrian Ralph Hasenhuttl on a 2-1/2 year contract to replace Mark Hughes as manager, the struggling club said in a statement on Wednesday.
Hasenhuttl had guided newly-promoted RB Leipzig to second place in the Bundesliga in the 2016-17 season before leaving the club this in May year due to a dispute over a new contract.
BSPA honours five veteran sports journos

Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) yesterday felicitated five senior sports journalists, who have passed five decades in sports writing.
The honoured journalists are – Muhammad Kamruzzaman, Abdul Tawhid, Azam Mahmud, Ikramuzzaman, and MA Hannan Khan. Eminent cultural personality Kamal Lohani handed them crests and gifts while BSPA's president Mostafa Mamun handed them blazers.
“People who spend 50 years or more in writing about sports deserve a lot of plaudits. And BSPA has performed its duty by honouring these veteran sports journalists and sports writers.
"Honouring such esteemed individuals is a matter of great honour in itself,” Kamal Lohani said in his speech at the event which was held at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium.
Ronaldo deserved the Ballon d'Or, says Allegri
Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo deserved to win the Ballon d'Or but missing out should drive him even more, according to coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Ronaldo finished second to his former Real Madrid team-mate Luka Modric, while Atletico's Antoine Griezmann was third.
"I think he deserved to win the Ballon d'Or for what he did with Real Madrid, winning the Champions League," he told reporters on Tuesday. "At the World Cup with Portugal honestly he couldn't go any further [than the round of 16]. Therefore, I mean, he deserved it.
"But I think that this can be a motivation to do even better this season and win the next Ballon d'Or with Juventus."
Serena, Nadal, Murray confirmed for Australian Open
Serena Williams will make her return to the Australian Open for the first time since winning in 2017 when eight-weeks pregnant, it was confirmed Wednesday, with virtually all the world's top 100 players due at Melbourne Park.
That includes injury-prone Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray.
Williams returned from giving birth to her first child to reach the 2018 Wimbledon and US Open finals, but suffered upset losses in both to leave her stuck on 23 major wins.

'Hazard must decide on future now'
Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard must make up his mind whether he wishes to commit to Chelsea and extend his contract worth a rumoured £350,000 a week, the club's manager Maurizio Sarri said.
"The club is available to sign a new contract immediately, but it's up to him if he wants to renew or not," said Sarri. "I want Eden here, of course, but I want him here if he wants to stay here."
