Gold winning shooter Jonny passes away
South Asian Games gold medallist shooter Nasir Uddin Jonny died of cardiac arrest in Florida, USA on Monday. He was 52.
Jonny, who has been living in USA since 1999, left behind his shooter wife Sharmin Rahman Sagar, one son, two daughters and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
Teaming up with GM A Haider and Kamrul Islam, Jonny bagged gold medal in the team event of 50m air rifle three position event during the Dhaka SAF Games [Now SA Games) in 1993 before winning individual gold medal in 50m air rifle prone during the Madras SAF Games in 1995.
Jonny, along with GM A Haider and Saiful Alam Rinky, grabbed gold medal in 50m air rifle three position event in the same meet.
Rinky confirmed the demise of the former national shooter.
