Amer, Fuad test positive in Doha
Bangladesh football team manager Amer Khan and physiotherapist Fuad Hasan Hawlader tested Covid-19 positive after all 34 members of the Bangladesh contingent took tests on Thursday following their arrival in Doha ahead of the World Cup qualifier on December 4.
They are asymptomatic and are being kept in isolation at the hotel.
"Because of the positive cases, everybody is in isolation at the hotel. We will be tested again tomorrow. If everything is alright, then we can resume the training. I will speak to the physio and fitness trainer if they can come up with a programme the players can execute in their rooms. It is not an ideal situation because we can't afford to miss any day of training for the build-up for Qatar tie," assistant coach Stuart Watkiss said.
Captain Jamal Bhuiyan said: "Everyone is good and staying in separate rooms. We are in three-day quarantine but we are mentally fit. We are all safe and looking forward having training in coming days."
