Swimming, Diving C’ship on Wednesday

The Saif Powertec 35th National Age-Group Swimming and Diving Championship is set to get underway at the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex tomorrow.

Around 300 budding swimmers from 90 teams are expected to compete in 100 events under five different age-group categories – 10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18-20 in the three-day competition.

Apart from the swimming event, three diving events are set to be held in the newly-renovated diving pool.

Bangladesh Swimming Federation general secretary MB Saif informed at a press conference that the age of the participating swimmers will be determined by medical tests a day before the competition commences.

The best swimmers in male and female categories will be awarded prize money along with trophies.
