Huge wins for Abahani & BKSP

Abahani Limited notched their second consecutive win in the Women's Premier Division Cricket League by comprehensively beating Indira Road Krira Chakra by nine wickets while BKSP also sealed a convincing 130 run win over Gulshan Youth Club in BKSP, Savar yesterday.

After being asked to bat first, Indira Road struggled right from the word go and were eventually all-out on 66 runs in 49 overs, where skipper Rita Shaha scored the highest with 32 runs as none of the other batsman were able to reach the double figures. Jhumur Akter picked up three wickets while Jahanara Alam took two for the bowling side.

Abahani reached the target in just 13.2 overs while losing only the wicket of opener Sharmin Sultana, who scored the highest for her side with 25 while partner Sharmin After remained unbeaten on 24.

In the day's other game, BKSP posted 209-8 in 50 overs after electing to bat first. Sanjida Akter Meghla top scored with 44 runs while Farjana Haque added 35 for BKSP. Shirin Sultana picked up four wickets for the bowling side.

Gulshan were all-out on 73 runs in 42 overs where Kohinoor Akter, who was the pick of the bowlers for Abahani, scalped four wickets while Nahida Akter took three and Sanjida Jannat bagged two while Tahin Tahera scored most with 32 for the batting side.
