Zaza gives Juve lead

Honda fires Milan

Japan midfielder Keisuke Honda hit a late winner in an inspirational performance for AC Milan on Sunday as the fallen Serie A giants continued their resurgence with a 2-1 win over Genoa on Sunday.

Milan are bidding to qualify secure a Champions League spot for the first time in three seasons and welcomed Genoa to the San Siro on the back of a run of six games without defeat.

In the previous day's top-of-the-table encounter, Italy Euro 2016 hopeful Simone Zaza produced a dramatic late strike as champions Juventus went one point clear at the top of Serie A with a 1-0 win over Napoli.

Napoli, suffering only their third defeat of the campaign, travelled north looking for a league double over the champions for the first time since the 2009-2010 campaign.

But just as the match looked to be heading for a draw, Zaza finished off a great Juve counter in the 88th minute with a powerful shot from 22 yards that took a slight deflection before beating Pepe Reina in the Napoli net.

"I hope this turns out to be a title-winning goal," said Zaza, who was one of the Italy players being watched by coach Antonio Conte.

Juve are now top of the table with Napoli a point adrift.
