Ronaldo responds to Neymar’s rumoured Real Madrid move
Los Blancos goal-machine Cristiano Ronaldo had his say regarding PSG superstar Neymar’s potential move to Real Madrid. Ronaldo insisted that he is used to the club being linked to the World’s top talents every season.
Goal.com reported that Neymar is keen to join Real Madrid this summer, although the French club have suggested that they will fight to have their star man stay put.
Neymar joined PSG last summer for a price tag of 222 million euro to become the most expensive player in the history of football but speculations have been rife that the Brazilian would like to make a move elsewhere.
Neymar has a contract with PSG till 2022 but while PSG president Al Khelafi had previously said that Neymar was going to stay 2000%, his stance might have changed when he said that no player was bigger than the club.
Reports suggested that, Neymar's agent Pini Zahavi met with Madrid president Florentino Perez on May 13 before meeting with the 26-year-old forward's lawyer a day later.
However, Ronaldo insisted that he is used to seeing star players being linked to the club time and time again but speculations do not always materialize.
“At Madrid there is continually talk of signings,” Ronaldo told El Chiringuito de Jugones.
“I have been here eight years and they are always talking about 50 players that are going to come, and in the end none come,”
Ronaldo also claimed that regardless of all the rumors, the Madrid squad remains similar with only very few signings being able to make an impact on the pitch.
“In September a lot of players are going to come and then in the end those who reach the finals are always the same.” Ronaldo added.
According to Goal.com report, the transfer would only be finalized after the World Cup which ends on July 15.
