Young Boys 2 : 0 Ronaldo
Young Boys' shock 2-1 win over Manchester United on the opening matchday of the Champions League group stage on Tuesday was the Swiss champions' only second-ever win in the biggest competition in club football.
That defeat for United, however, meant that Cristiano Ronaldo, who had put United ahead in the 13th minute and uplifted the hopes of the few traveling fans present at the Wankdorf Stadium, has now been at the wrong end of the result against the Young Boys on both occasions that they scraped a win in the tournament.
Young Boys won only two Champions League games till date -- the first was a 2-1 win against Juventus in the group stage during the 2018/2019 campaign and the other one was on Tuesday night against United. Interestingly, both times, Ronaldo was at the receiving end of the defeats.
USA striker Siebatcheu pounced on Jesse Lingard's nonsensical back-pass to tuck the ball past David de Gea for a 95th-minute winner in front of a delirious crowd after a strike from Nicolas Ngamaleu had cancelled out Ronaldo's opener.
Prior to that, the match hinged on Aaron Wan-Bissaka's sending-off late in the first half for a dangerous tackle on Young Boys midfielder Christopher Martins which gave Young Boys hope.
