U-15 boys lose 4-0 against Cyprus
Bangladesh began their U-15 Youth International Football Tournament with an expected defeat as they suffered a 0-4 loss to Cyprus at the Chang Arena Stadium in Buriram, Thailand yesterday.
Even Bangladesh wanted to hold their European counterparts to a draw, the Cypriots proved too hot to handle for the charges of Anwar Parvez Babu, who went behind in the 17th minute before conceding three more goals in the second half.
Ilias Kostis, Marios Kokkinoftas and substitutes Angelos Zefki and Andreas Chrysostomou scored one goal apiece.
“The Cyprus players are technically sound. They are also ahead of the Bangladeshi players in terms of physical ability. We conceded all the goals due to our mistakes. However, the boys learnt a lot from this match because we don't usually play against European opponents. I think the boys will rectify their mistakes and go forward by playing such matches,” said the Bangladesh coach.
