Post comes to hosts' rescue in dull draw

Bangladesh were lucky to play out a goalless draw against Nepal as substitute Nawayug Shreshtha's glancing header in the injury time of the second half could have proved disastrous for the hosts had it not ricocheted off the goalpost in the second match of the Mujib Borsho FIFA international friendly football series at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.

The most exciting, albeit alarming, moment of the game came courtesy of a rowdy spectator, who jumped the fence and ran half the length of the pitch and managed to take a selfie with Bangladesh captain Jamal Bhuiyan midway through the second half before being steered away by security personnel.
The draw earned the men in red and green bragging rights in the two-match series, but failed to appease the thirst of the football fans. The hosts had won the first match 2-0.

There was quite a lot of excitement regarding this match as close to 10,000 people turned up to watch the action, but unfortunately there was very little goalmouth action to get the crowd on their feet, let alone a clear goalscoring opportunity.
