It’s difficult to see Messi staying: Jorge Messi
Jorge Messi, Barcelona star Lionel Messi's father and agent, said that it will be difficult to see Messi staying at Barcelona as the Argentine's father arrived in Barcelona this morning to meet with the club's president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Jorge arrived in the city to meet with the Barca president to discuss Messi's future at the club and how it can be resolved as quickly as possible.
"I don't know anything about Manchester City. I haven't spoken to Pep Guardiola. I don't know anything guys," Jorge said to Deportes Cuatro after arriving in Barcelona. Later on he did add something else which would not please Barca fans. "It's difficult to see Leo staying," said Jorge.
The meeting between Bartomeu and Jorge Messi is set to start this afternoon as per ESPN sources. Sources have told ESPN that Jorge Messi will demand that Barcelona allow his son to leave for free, releasing his player registration. Bartomeu will propose a two-year contract extension to keep Messi at the club until 2023, according to ESPN.
Messi informed Barcelona through a burofax last Tuesday about his intentions to leave the club by triggering a certain clause that allows him to walk away for free. Barcelona however argues that the deadline for activating the clause has already expired in June.
