‘Hope to gain 100 per cent fitness in a week’
Bangladesh Football team skipper Jamal Bhuiyan said that his fitness level is not yet at 100 per cent but hoped that he can reach that within a week.
"Fitness is not 100 per cent but it will be there maybe within a week. I think it [my fitness] is now around 80 per cent," said Jamal after his first practice session with the national team ahead of their two international friendlies against Nepal next month.
Jamal, who arrived in the country yesterday, joined the ongoing national training camp today following a negative coronavirus report. Head coach Jamie Day along with two other foreign coaching staff -- goalkeeping coach Les Cleevely and assistant coach Stuart Watkiss -- who also arrived in the country yesterday, tested negative for coronavirus, informed Bangladesh Football Federation through a media release today.
Jamal, who left the country in late March following the postponement of domestic completion and the World Cup Qualifying match against Afghanistan scheduled for March 26, was also supposed to return to Dhaka in August to join the national camp ahead of October's World Cup Qualifiers fixtures. But he did not turn up following further postponement of the World Cup Qualifiers fixtures.
