Ex-footballer Tanvir no more

Former national team footballer Tanvir Chowdhury passed away at a hospital in Natore yesterday morning. He was 41.

The footballer from the late 90s and early 2000s was left seriously injured on the head following a road accident in Natore in 2015. Tanvir had been at home in a serious condition after undergoing treatment in Dhaka for some time. He breathed his last a short while after being rushed to hospital.

Tanvir left behind his wife, two daughters and a host of well-wishers. He was buried last night after his namaz-e-janaza at Natore's Kachari Eidgah after esha prayers.

He had played for clubs like Abahani, Muktijoddha, Brothers Union and Sheikh Russel in a top-flight career spanning close to 15 years while also representing the national team a few times.
