Cristiano training away from Juve teammates after return

Cristiano Ronaldo is training on his own away from his Juventus teammates despite coming out of a two-week quarantine.

The Portuguese superstar was forced to self-isolate at his home in Turin for a period of 14 days after landing back in the country from his native Madeira.

Having since completed the government-enforced lockdown, Ronaldo has returned to Juventus' Continassa training ground, but is working on his own conditioning while his teammates take part in small group sessions.

He first returned to the Juventus Training Center last Tuesday for the first time in over two months, and was cleared to take part in sessions after undergoing tests for coronavirus.

Last week he posted a picture on social media of him back out on the pitch, along with the caption: "When we become patient and consistent, we find the way to get through the difficulties."

Serie A's hopes of following Germany and Spain back onto the pitch will be decided on Thursday in a meeting with the Italian government which will determine the fate of the season in Italy.

Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora will tell representatives from the Italian football federation and Lega Serie A if the health conditions are right to return to action after nearly three months.

Clubs returned to group training on May 19 but competitive action remains suspended until mid-June.
