BFF wants to allow spectators in Nepal ties

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) expressed desire to allow some spectators to watch the FIFA international friendlies between hosts Bangladesh and Nepal on November 13 and 17 at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

"During a virtual inter-ministerial meeting to host two FIFA international friendlies, we have proposed to the sports ministry to allow the spectators in the friendlies. FIFA has three options to hold the international match amid the pandemic: with no attendance of spectators, full attendance of spectators and restricted attendance of spectators on some conditions. We want to allow one-third spectators for the 26,000-capacity Bangabandhu National stadium after maintaining the social distance," said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag after the meeting today. 

"As there is no fixed seat at the gallery at the moment, we will put signs for sitting arrangement for maintaining social distance while spectators must wear the mask and allow their temperatures to be measured before entering the stadium," said Shohag. 

The BFF also discussed different issues in the presence of high-ups from different ministries to make the international friendlies a success.

"We have discussed a lot of issues to approach everything in the right way," said Shohag. "At the meeting, we have also discussed how to reduce the time-frame of quarantine for the Nepal team, who are supposed to arrive here on November 5 and ensure their practice sessions during the quarantine period. We will again discuss the matter with the health ministry to make sure that Nepal have to spend less time in quarantine and get the opportunity to practice."
