BFF forms probe committee
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) yesterday formed a three-member probe committee to look into the allegations against its women's wing chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron of making derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The committee, formed under the instructions of BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, features the local governing body's senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy as convenor with vice-president Kazi Nabil Ahmed and Abdur Rahim as its two members.
The committee has been asked to deliver its report within the next few days to the BFF executive committee.
Kiron, a council member of FIFA, allegedly made derogatory remarks against the Prime Minister, according to a report aired on a private TV channel recently.
Abu Hasan Prince, a sports organiser, lodged a case against Kiron with the CMM Court in this connection on Tuesday and an arrest warrant was issued against her the following day.
