Debutant Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomes Nascimento struck a brace in Riviera Independence Cup as Abahani emerged group champions with a 3-1 win over Rahmatganj in final group D match at the Birshreshtha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium yesterday.

Raphael Augusto netted the third one to send Abahani into the quarterfinals with an all-win record to set a last-eight battle against Bangladesh Army.

Rahmatganj were eliminated while newcomers Swadhinata KS advanced to the knockout stage as Group A runners-up to set up last-eight clash against Saif SC.

Abahani conceded the lead against the run of play in the 15th minute when Enamul Islam's shot took a deflection off Abahani defender Tutul Hossain Badsha.

But the last lasted only one minute as Dorielton converted a penalty in the 16th minute while Tettey squandered a spot-kick to deprive Rahmatganj from restoring the lead in the 42nd minute.

Dorielton gave Abahani the lead back-heeling an Augusto cut-back in the 50th minute before Augusto wrapped up the victory converting a penalty in the 71st minute.
