Mexico to appeal fine

The Mexican Football Federation has vowed to appeal a new fine imposed by FIFA over a homophobic chant used by fans against opposition goalkeepers.

FIFA announced on Tuesday a set of sanctions against several federations, with Mexico ordered to pay around $31,000 over the use of the slur at the 2018 World Cup qualifying game against Honduras in September.
