Tigers asked to bowl in their 100th T20I
Zimbabwe have won the toss and elected to bat in their first T20I against Bangladesh at the Harare Sports Club today.
Bangladesh will be missing two of their most experienced players -- Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim -- in what is set to be the Tigers' 100th T20I. Tamim has been left out of the T20I series as the left-hander was prescribed to rest for eight to ten weeks due to his knee pain that also saw him miss the one-off Test against Zimbabwe while Mushfiqur has opted out due to a family crisis.
However, premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan starts and it will be the all-rounder's first T20I for Bangladesh since returning from the ICC-imposed ban last year.
Led by Sikandar Raza, Zimbabwe have fielded a fairly young squad for today's game.
Bangladesh have already won the one-off Test series and the three-match ODI series 3-0. Mahmudullah Riyad's side will look to continue their winning run in the shortest version of the game as well and complete a clean series sweep across formats by winning the three-match T20I series.
Squads:
Bangladesh: Mohammad Naim, Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah Riyad (capt), Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan (wk), Mahedi Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman
Zimbabwe: Regis Chakabva (wk), Tadiwanashe Marumani, Tarisai Musakanda, Dion Myers, Wessley Madhevere, Sikandar Raza (capt), Ryan Burl, Donald Tiripano, Luke Jongwe, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava
