Tamim sets first-class record with 334*
Left-handed opener Tamim Iqbal registered the highest individual score in Bangladesh's first-class cricket with an unbeaten 334 on the third day of the BCL first round today.
Tamim scored unbeaten 334 off 426 deliveries as East Zone declared their first innings for a mammoth 555 for two following Central Zone's first innings score of 213.
Tamim, who started the third day on 222, reached 300 off 407 balls before smashing a few fours and sixes as East Zone piled up the runs to declare their innings after lunch.
This was only the second triple century by a Bangladeshi batsman, with Raqibul Hasan (313*) scoring the first during the 2006-07 season playing for Sylhet against Barisal.
Yeasir Ali Rabbi was unbeaten on 62 at the other end, with Pinak Ghosh and skipper Mominul Haque dismissed for East Zone.
