Siddons to arrive tomorrow
Former Bangladesh coach Jamie Siddons will arrive in the country tomorrow to work with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as its batting consultant.
Siddons has been contracted by the BCB for two years and was initially expected to arrive today for his second stint with the board.
"He [Siddons] will leave for Bangladesh today and will reach the country tomorrow," informed cricket operations committee chairman Jalal Yunus to The Daily Star today.
Siddons was in charge of the Tigers as their head coach from 2007 to 2011. Back then, he had worked with the likes of Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan and played an important role in grooming them.
Bangladesh are scheduled to host Afghanistan for three ODIs and two T20Is later this month.
With the Afghanistan series in mind, Bangladesh will start practising after the final of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on February 18.
"They [rest of the BCB coaching staff] will arrive in the country by February 18. And we will start practising [before the Afghanistan series] soon after that," added Jalal.
Although the BCB is yet to specify Siddons' role, Jalal mentioned that initially, the Australian will be working with the national team players.
