Shakib granted NOC to play CPL
All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been granted NOC (No Objection Certificate) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to take part in the upcoming season of the Caribbean Premiere League BCB's cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed.
Shakib will join the Guyana Amazon Warriors this season of the CPL as replacement for South African left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi at some point of the tournament.
"We have granted the NOC to Shakib as the cricketer is set to take part in the upcoming edition of the CPL," Jalal told The Daily Star.
According to the BCB director, Shakib was the only player to have asked for a break from the upcoming Zimbabwe tour scheduled to take place between July 30 to August 10 where Bangladesh to play three T20Is and as many ODIs. CPL is set to begin from August 30 and will conclude on September 30.
"Apart from Shakib no other players have asked for a break from the upcoming Zimbabwe tour which means we are expected to send a full-strength side for the series," he said.
Shakib has played for the now Barbados Royals and Jamaica Tallawahs in the CPL previously.
"I would not hide this one- Shamzi will be leaving at some point in the tournament, and Shakib Al Hasan, another spinner, will join us and he brings batting, which will make the team stronger," Guyana Amazon Warriors Head Coach, Rayon Griffith had told the media.
