Picked, then dropped
The good performances of the last season were not good enough for Mohammad Azim to be secure about playing this season; instead the paceman's participation remains uncertain after Mohammedan Sporting Club advised him to find a new club despite picking him from the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) draft.
“Last night [Sunday], [Mohammedan manager] Wasim [Khan] Bhai rang me and said that Mahbub [Anam] Bhai told him to advise me to look for another club. They also told me not to come for practice today [Monday]. I was not a requested player; they picked me,” Azim, who took 18 wickets in six matches last season, told reporters yesterday.
“Is it fair? Where will I get a new team now? I saw that [Shahadat Hossain] Rajib Bhai came today in my place, although he was not picked in the draft,” he added.
Wasim however assured that they will look into the matter and if Azim did not get any team, they would definitely retain him.
